Shannon, founder and principal designer of Oaked Interiors, believes great design begins with purpose. Raised in Cabin John, Maryland, her passion for craftsmanship was shaped by her father, a stone mason who spent weekends exploring flea markets and antique shows with her. He taught her to recognize the beauty in forgotten pieces and restore them for modern living. Later, while renovating her first home in Washington, D.C., he passed on hands-on construction skills—from demolition and carpentry to masonry, tile, flooring, and finishing—giving Shannon a deep understanding of how beautiful spaces are thoughtfully built.

Today, Shannon combines that foundation with a passion for sustainability, wellness, and timeless design. She specializes in transforming outdated interiors into warm, functional spaces that feel collected over time by blending vintage finds with clean, modern design. She also partners with homeowners from the earliest stages of new construction, creating homes that feel welcoming, layered, and deeply personal from the moment the keys are handed over. Her work emphasizes natural materials, low-VOC products, organic textures, calming color palettes, and enduring design choices that reduce waste and move beyond passing trends.
